The Process

The Sarge Process

Modern engineering. Timeless tool. Built in Texas by Sarge with curated, top-tier components and a finish standard that doesn’t blink.

We start with specifically engineered carbon-fiber blanks for light weight and tuned sensitivity. Every part—guides, reel seats, grips, thread, finish—is chosen for performance and durability, then assembled in focused batches to control cure times and consistency. You choose the model, model length, grip style, guides, colors, and personalization. We don’t label rods by application; the rod is what it is to you—the angler who wields it.

Build Order (How Your Rod Comes to Life)

  1. Specs & Setup
Your model, length, grip style (full or split; cork or EVA), guide package, colors, and personalization are locked.

  2. Blank Inspection & Prep
Blank is checked for straightness, micro-defects, and weight; ends are trimmed/cleaned and surfaces are prepped for perfect bonds.

  3. Spine & Orientation
We locate the blank’s natural spine and orient components to optimize tracking, recovery, and sensitivity.

  4. Handle Build
Grips are reamed for a true fit; reel seat is aligned and epoxied; butt cap and trim are set.

  5. Guide Train Layout
Guide sizes and positions are marked, then tuned with static-deflection testing to distribute load evenly and protect line under stress.

  6. Wrapping
Guides are wrapped under controlled tension. Fish measuring accents are applied per your color spec (matte or metallic).

  7. Finish—Coat One
Epoxy is laid smooth and even; rods go on dryers for a dust-free, level cure.

  8. Finish—Coat Two & Polish
A second precision coat locks in clarity and durability; edges are dressed for a glass-flat look.

  9. Personalization
Name, logo, or grip engraving is added (handwritten +$5, logo +$15, grip engraving +$30). This is where it becomes yours.

  10. Final Tune & QC
Alignment, finish, and overall integrity are inspected to ensure it meets the Sarge standard.

  11. Packout
Your rod is protected and readied for shipment or pickup—built to fish today and be handed down tomorrow.
